Icardi scores a dramatic winner, referee gives a hilarious penalty to PSG

If you’re rich, you’re more lucky than smart a recent study showed. But, you don’t need a study to confirm the theory, if you watched PSG – Lyon match. The derby match between France’s most successful teams in recent history was basically decided by the referee’s decision to give a soft penalty to Neymar (who else) and not to check VAR first. It’s hilarious that when VAR check is finally introduced, referee’s don’t automatically check it when they award a penalty. Because if Clement Turpin did it, he may have overturned his decision, as it was evident that both Neymar and Gusto were pushing each other, and then the Brazilian just fell down. End of story. On a night when both teams deserved a draw, PSG equalized through a soft penalty and won the game when Icardi scored a late goal: PSG – Lyon 2-1. It was an entertaining game, and the guests were not afraid of a mighty trio Messi-Neymar-Mbappe (MNM), but tried to score goals. In the end, both teams had 5 shots on target each, and the hosts didn’t played enough to deserve all three points. But they got it. Messi played a good game, but was subbed in the 76th minute, and he was not happy about it, as he refused to shake hands with Pochettino, which will surely be a subject of controversy. PSG started the game on a more attacking note, and soon, first chances were there. Di Maria created space for himself in the 9th minute and tried a shot with his left foot, but it was too easy for Lopes. In the 18th minute, Ekambi broke down from the left side and delivered a good cross, but Shaqiri’s shot was stopped by Donnarumma, who started the match. The hosts had the initiative, but their shots were usually blocked just before they arrived to Lopes. Lionel Messi had two great chances in the first half, and should have scored his first goal for PSG, but Lopes saved in 33rd minute and the Argentinian had a great shot from the free kick just a minute later, but he managed to hit the crossbar, rather than the net. Lyon didn’t show any fear from PSG and the mighty trio Messi, Neymar, Mbappe (MNM), and the guests had a number of quick counter attacks from Ekambi’s side. But, rather surprisingly for the home crowd, it was the Brazilian magic, but from the other team, which provided the first goal. Ekambi again was active, and he delivered a beautiful cross to Lucas Paqueta. The Brazilian wasted no time and scored in Donnarumma’s closer corner. The Italian could have done more in this situation.GOAL!⚽ Lucas PaquetáPSG 0-[1] Lyon#Ligue1pic.twitter.com/nYLXbaPHse— World Goals ⚽🌎 (@worldgoals_1) September 19, 2021 Everybody waited a response from PSG, but nobody believed that it would come from the referee. Neymar tried (as he always does) to force a faul, and after a push with Gusto, in which the Brazilian also pulled Lyon player by the shirt, PSG’s number 10 fell down and the referee pointed out at the spot, not even checking VAR. Neymar loves Messi, but he didn’t want to give anybody the ball, and scored an equalizer from the spot. Lyon was shaken by this equalizer and didn’t seem to have enough strength to push up again, but rather tried not to lose the game. They almost managed that, especially after Messi was subbed in the 76th minute, but in the end, they allowed Icardi to score the winning goal in the 93rd minute.#PSGOL ~ #Ligue1 PSG 1 × 1 LYON | GOAL Neymar, HD🎥 pic.twitter.com/jK8kvdv91j— Footy Gen (@footygen) September 19, 2021 Mauro Icardi goal ⚽The Argentine scores at the death to win PSG the game despite another shaky performance 🇦🇷PSG 2-1 Lyonpic.twitter.com/rS18rmmtjN— BirdieFootball (@birdiefootball) September 19, 2021 LIGUE 1 – ROUND 6FridayStrasbourg – Metz 3-0 (3-0)/Ajorque 6′, Diallo 26′, 40’/SaturdayLens – Lille 1-0 (0-0)/Frankowski 74/ Saint-Etienne – Bordeaux 1-2 (0-1)/Khazri 73 – Hwang 7,80/SundayNice – Monaco 2-2 (0-1)/Delort 51, Boundaui 73 – Golovin 39, Yedder 77/Reims – Lorient 0-0Clermont – Brest 1-1 (0-0)/Rashani 65 – Chardonnet 52/Angers – Nantes 1-4 (1-3)/Traore – Girotto 3, Blas 6, 79 Muani 23/Troyes – Montpellier 1-1 (1-0)/Touzghar 37 – Savanier 87/Olympique Marseille – Rennes 2-0 (0-0)/Dieng 48, Harit 71/PSG – Olympique Lyon 2-1 (0-0)/Neymar (p) 66 – Paqueta 54, Icardi 90+3/
