Newly promoted FKF Premier League side, Vihiga Bullets have appointed former Silibwet FC coach Evans Mafuta as their new head coach ahead of the new season that starts on Saturday afternoon.Bullets were promoted to the top-tier at the end of 2022/21 National Super League campaign after they finished in position two in the second tier. Them alongside FC Talanta secured automatic promotion while Kenya Police had to go through the playoff to move to the top-tier.Mafuta takes over from veteran Edward Manoah who resigned from his position shortly after guiding the team to the top league. This has been confirmed by the club through a statement on its social media platforms. Mafuta will be aided by Veteran Tom Tera who is the current Luanda Villa head coach. Tera has previously served as an assistant coach at Vihiga United.“Vihiga bullets has unveiled Evans Mafuta as the new head coach following the retirement of coach Edward Manoah. He will be assisted by Tom Tera ahead of the new season FKFPL 21/22,” read part of the statement.The former Eldoret Youth head coach who also served as an assistant coach at Nairobi Stima is looking forward for his FKF Premier League bow.”I’m buzzing to be here because Bullets is one of the best clubs in the Kenya .
