Former Sheffield United footballer Steve Jagielka died after taking methadone and cocaine, an inquest heard on Tuesday. The 43-year-old was found dead at his home on March 15.Steve, a father of three and brother to ex-England star Phil Jagielka, made more than 170 appearances for Shrewsbury Town between 1997 and 2003. The medical cause of death is given as aspirational pneumonia due to methadone toxicity.Steve wasn’t quite as successful at football as his brother Phil. Although he did play for Sheffield United, his is best remembered at Shrewsbury Town and Accrington Stanley Football Club, the team that famously got promoted to the fourth tier while Steve was playing there.
