Akhulia backs sophomores Bidco to regain their shine after opening day ‘stumble’

Bidco United head coach Anthony Akhulia believes his team will come good after five-six games of the current 2021/22 FKF Premier League campaign.United, on their second top-flight season, started the new campaign with a 0-0 draw against Vihiga Bullets in Mumias on Saturday. Many had backed United to whip the newbies but they found the going tough as the Evans Mafuta coached teams proved to be a tough nut to crack.We are 10th in the table standings after the first round of the FKFPL. We will be back in action on 16th October against Bandari Fc at home.#Ready4Whatever pic.twitter.com/Q1uTQTMo0e— Bidco United (@BidcoUnited) September 27, 2021 In an interview with the club website, Akhulia said he had hoped to pick a win in Mumias but was grateful for the one point that his team earned in Mumias.“We would have loved all three points, but one away from home is a positive result,” he stated.The tactician further stated that his team will come good after five or six matches and eyes improvement in the coming weeks.“We must keep on improving. I’m confident that five, six matches into the season, we’ll have picked up momentum,” he stated.Next for Bidco after the national break is a home match against Bandari FC. Among the new faces is the attacking trio of Derrick Onyango, Collins Neto and Brian Nyakan. The three joined from Kakamega Homeboyz, Zoo FC and Sofapaka respectively. Others are Gabriel Wandera a defender from Nzoia Sugar FC and AFC Leopards goalkeeper, Ezekiel Owade.They also lost two key players to Wazito FC. Striker Eric Gichimu and goalkeeper Zamu Adisa both decamped to the Francis Kimanzi coached outfit.
