The Club at Olde Cypress in Naples, Florida, will reopen its P.B. Dye-designed golf course in November after a multi-million-dollar renovation that included extensive work to the clubhouse.
Built in 1999, the private Olde Cypress was the first course in the golf hotspot of Collier County designed by P.B. Dye, the son of Pete and Alice Dye who died in July. The club is owned by STOCK Development, a Southwest Florida residential developer, and is part of a 540-acre development.
All 18 greens, plus the practice green and chipping area were resurfaced with TifEagle Bermuda, the tee boxes were leveled and resurfaced, a new drainage system was installed, and each of the course’s 98 bunkers was refreshed with new edging, contouring and new sand.
“Golf’s popularity has soared over the past 18 months, and now our course is fully updated and ready to accommodate our golf members, who are among the most avid players in the Naples market,” Olde Cypress director of golf Joe Conforti said in a release announcing the impending completion of the project. “Director of golf course maintenance Brad Haynes and his team have been instrumental in restoring our outstanding P.B. Dye design to its original grandeur.”
Updates to the 34,000-square-foot clubhouse include a transformed pro shop and modernized dining and ballroom spaces.
