Isuza: Bandari going for the title

Talismanic Kenyan international midfielder Whyvone Isuza who recently signed with Bandari and made a thunderous debut for the coastal club wants the Kenya Ports Authority run outfit to stage a fierce title challenge this season. Bandari have had several close shaves with the FKF Premier League title but are yet to lay their hands on Kenya’s most coveted football trophy. Their closest ever was a second-placed finish behind Gor Mahia in 2019 and 2019 under the maverick tactician Bernard Mwalala. The Dockers finished third last season and have been on an ambitious recruitment spree aimed at propelling the team to their first-ever league title. Isuza is one of their high-profile new acquisition, the others include Rodgers Aloro, Chris Ochieng, and Faraj Ominde all from Tusker, KCB’s Joseph Okoth who returned to the club, Boniface Mwangemi from Kariobangi Sharks. The team’s goal is to win their first-ever league title and Isuza says he joined the team to propel them to the league title and that it was part of the discussion he held with the club before signing.Numbers 👇🏾Whyvonne Isuza – 1️⃣ Match 2️⃣ GoalsUmaru Kasumba – 1️⃣ Match 1️⃣ Goal 1️⃣ Assist.Rogers Aloro – 1️⃣ Match 1️⃣ Assist ✅ Clean Sheet.Abdallah Hassan – 1️⃣ Match 1️⃣ Assist.#BandariNiYetu pic.twitter.com/EGQO0bMOds— Bandari Football Club (@BandariOfficial) September 30, 2021 “Before joining Bandari, I sat down with the management who made their expectations clear. I’m here to fire Bandari to major titles this season. We have a good squad that can effectively charge for the title, “he told the Star Newspaper.Isuza reunites with Rwandese coach Andre Casa Mbungo in Mombasa and he says him scoring a brace on his debut is largely due to the fact that he knew what’s expected of him by the tactician whom he worked with at AFC Leopards.”We have worked with Casa before and I know what he expects from me that’s why it was easy for me to adopt,” he said.Isuza wasn’t included in the National team squad that’s set to play Mali but the experienced midfielder is not losing sleep over it.“I wouldn’t really want to think much about my exclusion from the national team. The selection process is pegged on some factors beyond my control. I’d prefer to concentrate on refining my form and working hard to win titles with my new club because, at least, these are factors I can easily control,” he added.Bandari FC new catch Whyvonne Isuza has attributed their strong start to the league to the ‘good’ pre-season the team had.The dockers got off to a roaring start beating Mathare United 3-0 at their Mbaraki backyard. pic.twitter.com/UCwDoENEob— Geoffrey Mwamburi (@bekimwamburi) September 27, 2021 Next for Isuza and the Dockers is a match against Bidco United in Thika.
