Round two and four of the FKF Premier League fixtures for Gor Mahia and Tusker FC have been postponed to pave way for CAF assignments for the two teams in that period.Robert Matano’s Tusker FC will host Zamalek on October 15 at Nyayo National Stadium for the first leg before traveling to Cairo for the second leg that is scheduled to take place a week later.Gor Mahia on the other hand will play Al Ahly Merowe of Sudan Egypt on October 15 before hosting the team just over a week later.🚨 UPDATE@k_sharksfc vs @OfficialGMFC fixture that was scheduled for 15/10/2021 has been postponed as Kogallo will be taking part in the CAF confederation.#FKFPL pic.twitter.com/7Sqjf8KdzL— FKF Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) October 4, 2021 K’Ogalo were set to square it out with Kariobangi Sharks on October 15 after the international break while Tusker were scheduled to play newbies Talanta FC a day later. However, following their involvement in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup for Tusker and Gor respectively, the fixtures will not be played as scheduled.Instead, the matches will come towards the end of the month on October 27 in a rescheduled midweek arrangement for both teams.💪| The rest of the boys continued with the work at Ruaraka ahead of our CAF Champions League campaign.#KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/vI8jVmICiU— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) October 4, 2021 For the fourth round, Gor Mahia were set to play Ulinzi Stars while Tusker were to play another League entrant Kenya Police FC on October 23 and October 24 but that too has been pushed forward to November 3.Going by the new arrangement, both Gor Mahia and Tusker are set to be hit with fixture congestion as they will both play five games in a span of 16 days, roughly a game every three days.In October, Gor will play Al Ahly Merowe twice in the CAF CC second preliminary and still play the Mashemeji Derby just five days after playing in Egypt, Sofapaka, and Kariobangi Sharks in that order. On their side, Tusker will play Zamalek twice, then face off with Kakamega Homeboyz, Wazito FC, and Talanta in those 16 days.🤩| Our boys in national team colors. pic.twitter.com/VcKky9WXqO— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) October 4, 2021 Tusker could be in for a rough ride because on top of the four games in 16 days, they have five players in the national team and Matano recently decried injuries after the 1-0 loss to AFC Leopards.Custodian Brian Bwire, defenders Eugene Asike and Daniel Sakari, midfielders Boniface Muchiri and Eric Zakayo, and forward Henry Meja are all set to do duty against Mali. The squad depth for the two teams will be put to the test with the extra match and that should be a no-brainer for Gor Mahia who have rebuffed their unit and started on a high in the league.
