Journey-man Lavatsa finds new home

Former Gor Mahia forward Edwin Lavatsa has joined newly promoted FKF Premier League side, FC Talanta, Mozzart Sport can confirm.The former Harambee Stars forward has been unattached since he left Gor Mahia in October 2020. It also marked coach Kenyatta’s return to the top tier after a five-year absence. He was last in charge of a team in the Kenyan Premier League in 2016 when he was Ushuru FC’s head coach. The team was however relegated at the end of 2016 campaign.Probable Harambee Stars starting XI against Mali“Lavatsa has joined FC Talanta, he trained with the team and impressed coach Kenyatta who offered him a deal. He will be part of the team this campaign,” a reliable source revealed.Lavatsa started his career at Gor Mahia between 2011 and 2013 before moving to Algeria where he joined MC Alger, he left the club six months later. He returned to Kenya and joined Mathare United before moving to Bandari. He went on to play for Tusker FC, Wazito FC, Kakamega Homeboyz and finally returned to Gor Mahia.He becomes FC Talanta’s 13th signing. The other new faces at the club include; Alvin Ochieng, Kevintom Machika, Evans Maliachi, Luis Masika, Michael Bodo, Georson Likono, Ziyadi Kiwanuka, Vincent Otieno, Maurice Dukully, Brian Yakhama, Isaiah Wakasala, and Mohamed Coulibaly.Talanta began the new season with a 1-1 draw against Wazito FC. Their next league assignment will be against last season’s runner up KCB on 20th October.
