Former AFC Leopards custodian Benjamin Ochan has spoken highly of his former teammate Maxwell Mulili after the latter’s brilliant start to the season in between the sticks for Ingwe.Following the exit of all the first three goalkeeping choices, young Mulili was tasked with manning the goal for AFC in their first two games against defending champions Tusker FC and first runners up KCB in which he has kept clean sheets in both.Speaking in an interview on Safari Soccer Show, Ochan said that in the two seasons that he has been at Ingwe, the goalkeeping department has been of high quality with the presence of John Oyemba, Ezekiel Owade, and Mulili.Our number oneMaxwell Muchesia Mulili#OursForever pic.twitter.com/29Q9WwMizj— AFC Leopards (@AFCLeopards) October 1, 2021 Ochan went ahead to heap more praises on Mulili, saying that he should have been the first-choice goalkeeper at AFC even in his presence and that of Oyemba and Owade owing to his talent.The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) skipper extended credit to Ingwe’s goalkeeping coach Lawrence Webo, saying that he was not surprised with Mulili’s performance as he is in good hands of the former goalkeeper.”In the past two seasons that I have been at AFC, the goalkeeping department has been top-notch. The guys were great, Oyemba is top-notch, Owade was top-notch, and Max was amazing. I think Max would be the first choice and all of us would follow because this boy is such a talent. It came with a lot of emotions because I believe I was the most loved foreign player there, and you can’t believe the warm messages I received from Ingwe fans. That is something that I do not take for granted. I wish I won something for the team. I pray that they win something this season. I wish the club well, I pray they have a good season. No hard feelings. I also take this opportunity to speak to Ingwe fans, it’s football, you move, players come and go,” he added.Ochan announced his departure from Ingwe last month and joined KCCA for a third stint, where he has since been given captaincy duties upon his return.
