Wazito goalie out for six months

FKF Premier League side, Wazito FC have announced that goalkeeper Mustapha Oduor will be out for up to six months with a foot fracture.The custodian, who joined the club a few weeks ago picked the injury, a few minutes into his debut against Kakamega Homeboyz last Sunday. He was rushed to the hospital where he has since undergone surgery and is now on the recovery path.“We can confirm that our goalkeeper Mustapha Oduor picked a left lower tibia comminuted fracture (with fragment) and he will be out of action for up to six months,” the club announced on Saturday morning through a statement posted on its website.“Oduor suffered the injury on Sunday, eight minutes into his debut after colliding a Kakamega Homeboyz. It was a major injury and he had to be operated on. He will be out for about four to six months,” Mandi stated.His injury leaves Coach Francis Kimanzi with only two keepers to choose from and this means that they could head back to the transfer market to look for Oduor’s cover. Only Bixente Otieno and Zamu Adisa are available for selection.Bixente made his first start of the season on Thursday against Nairobi City Stars where he was largely impressive especially in the first half keeping his team in the game before they eventually went down 3-1 late on in the game. Next for Wazito is a match against Kariobangi Sharks on Sunday afternoon at the Kasarani Annex.
