Wazito FC will be seeking their first win of the season when they take on in-form Kariobangi Sharks in an Football Kenya Federation Premier League match at the Kasarani Annex on Sunday afternoon. The Francis Kimanzi-led team is yet to register a win, three matches into the new season, and have lost their last two to Kakamega Homeboyz and Nairobi City Stars respectively. The only point the team has picked this season came in the one-all draw against FC Talanata on opening day. Sharks on the other hand have a 100% record having have played two games and subsequently winning both. Up next is an assignment against Kariobangi Sharks#Wazito4life pic.twitter.com/bywJY7pZrx— Wazito Football Club (@wazitofc) October 23, 2021 Many had predicted that Sharks would struggle in the opening matches of the season after parting ways with many of their first-team players. They had to rebuild and went for young talents majorly from the lower leagues who appear to have settled in the top tier easily. Their new signings have hit the ground running soon enough. Of the four goals they have scored this season, three have been bagged by new players (Erick Mmata and Felix Olouch) and this goes to elaborate how the new boys are critical to coach William Muluya’s plans.##NAJAVA_MECA_5924490##Wazito too recruited well, but their new players are yet to gel with the rest of the team, the team is also short of confidence according to coach Kimanzi. “We cannot be too ashamed of losing a game because it is a learning process so every time you learn that one department is not complete yet, or two departments are not ready to compete but it is a process that we have to work with. We have to build the confidence of the players and bring the new players to understand what we want and going forward there will be no panic but for now, we have to support them to bring that confidence back,” he said. The beginning of a beautiful story. This is for all of you who trust in your dreams✊🏾⚽️ pic.twitter.com/QwbhlxvPJ1— Felix Oluoch (@FelixOluoch_) October 23, 2021 Sharks new signing Felix Oluoch who scored a brace against Vihiga Bullets on Wednesday is eyeing a win over Wazito.”We definitely want to win because if we win we will have a chance to go top in the league. However, it will be a tough and highly tactical game where a mistake could prove costly and as such we have to at our best against Wazito. On a personal level, I want to keep scoring goals and hopefully I can get more on Sunday, ” he stated.
