Kisumu sign 25 players ahead of return to NSL

Kisumu United, formerly known as Western Stima have assembled a new team comprised of twenty five players ahead of the new National Super League (NSL) season.Kisumu were axed from the top tier after finishing in the red zone and subsequently, lost almost the entire team with their best players being lured by deep pocketed teams as well as their head coach Abdallah Juma.The latter who decamped to Fortune Sacco has since been replaced by former Chemelil Sugar head coach Charles Odera who was one of the tacticians as Kisumu Hotstars last season.⚽️|Stima will playing in the National Super League next season after failing to hold onto the premier division#WesternStima #NSLhttps://t.co/yYTUl3jxd8— Mozzart Sport Kenya (@MozzartSportKe) September 9, 2021 Kisumu’s team manager Moses Nyalik revealed that they picked the 25 from the three-week long trials conducted at their backyard and were in the process of registering them.##NAJAVA_MECA_5920495##He said that majority of the new players were relatively new at the stage and young and tipped them to flourish under Odera.”We lost almost the entire team after we were relegated to the second tier. We had to assemble a new squad that is made up of new players and a handful of senior players. We have done it before and we will do it again this time round. It will be a little bit tough considering that we don’t have a sponsor but we will navigate through,” he said. His sentiments were backed by Odera who was impressed with the quality of players he had tapped from the region that is famed for producing good players.
