Kariobangi Sharks aim their rage towards Gor Mahia

Kariobangi Sharks head coach William ‘Kanu’ Muluya is now focused on getting a positive result against Gor Mahia when the two teams face off in a rescheduled league match on Wednesday afternoon at the Kasarani Stadium.Sharks remain unbeaten, three matches into the new season. They defeated Posta Rangers and Vihiga Bullets in the opening two matches before they registered a one-all draw over the weekend against Wazito FC.Next for them is match against the record league champions in Kasarani and Kanu says they only have one day to prepare for the game. He is however confident that they can get a positive result should they can implement their game plan well.“We basically have one day of training before we play Gor Mahia and we have to manage their rest and preparation for the game. He is also proud of the fact that they have so far this season let in just one league goal.”It was a balanced game, both teams had chances. We started slowly but fortunately, we managed to grow into the game and got a goal and an important point. It is the first time we have conceded a goal and it means we have been doing well defensively and that is a positive thing,” he added.Sharks’ positive start to the new campaign was an unforeseen one after the mass departures that was witnessed at the club after the conclusion of the 2020/21 FKF Premier League campaign. The team lost 14 players, including top scorer Erick Kapaito who moved to the Ethiopian league.In Gor Mahia, they face a team that has won all its matches so far this season. They beat KCB and AFC Leopards in their opening two FKF Premier League matches of the new season. They also downed Al Ahly Merowe of Sudan in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup playoff, Merowe snubbed the second leg and opted to pull out of the tournament altogether.
