Matano takes swipe at blundering Wandera, vows to ring changes

Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano has taken a swipe on left-back Hillary Wandera for repeated mistakes in matches as he vowed to ring changes in the coming assignments. The Brewers have lost their last four matches, two in the FKF Premier League and two in the CAF Champions League. They have since dropped to the CAF Confederation Cup where they will play Tunisia’s CS Faxien in a two-legged play-off with a group stage ticket at stake.Following Wednesday’s latest defeat to FC Talanta at their backyard at Ruaraka Grounds, Matano took issue with Wandera whom he believes has been making costly back-to-back errors. Against the newbies, both crosses that Talanta capitalized on to win came from Wandera’s left side of the backline and Matano is not taking it anymore. The veteran tactician lambasted the tough-tackling defender and vowed to ring changes in their coming assignments.📸| Not the best day in office yesterday, but we will bounce back.#KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/waDxD9AOYP— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) October 28, 2021 “The players have to realize their mistakes. We cannot keep repeating the same mistake every day, a wise person must change his mind. If we are losing a game in the same way, same position, same player and you are playing there how do you think? It means you are not ready for the match and we will do something better now,” an animated Matano stated.Tusker’s struggles can be attributed to the mass exodus and signings that were witnessed at the club after the conclusion of the 2020/21 FKF PL season. The Brewers let go of 12 players who helped them win the league title and brought on board almost a similar number who appear to be struggling to fill the void left by the departures. Some are struggling with injury and fitness issues.Next for Matano and his troops is a Saturday match against Wazito FC that will be played at the Ruaraka Grounds and will kick off at 3 PM.
