West Ham in Europe: singing anti-Semitic songs and ripping off fingers

Chants of “We’re all going on a European tour” echoed around the London Stadium in May this year during the Southampton game, when West Ham won 3-0 and secured their place in the Europa League. So far, the Hammers have recorded three wins and a draw are top of the group H, with Dinamo Zagreb being the only real rival. But, their results were overshadowed by their fans, the ones who were eager to go on a European tour, as shocking videos emerged after last night’s draw with Genk, showing fans chant anti-Semitic songs to a Jewish man, and one fan leaving out his finger in the away end!.@Ryanair will you be helping @WestHam to identify their fans taunting a Jewish passenger: “I’ve got a foreskin haven’t you, f***ing Jew”?Did your crew take action and alert police? These racist thugs must face the consequences of their actions. pic.twitter.com/GPaqcFdPEv— Campaign Against Antisemitism (@antisemitism) November 4, 2021 The video footage of the Jewish Orthodox passenger boarding the plane for Genk had already gone viral on the social networks, and an anti-Semitic song can be heard in the back. In fact, it’s a vile song about Jewish men’s penises, aimed at West Ham’s London rivals Tottenham, who are traditionally supported by a large Jewish community.“West Ham United is appalled by the contents of the video circulating on social media and condemn the behaviour of the individuals involved. The Club is liaising with the airline and relevant authorities to identify the individuals. We continue to be unequivocal in our stance – we have a zero-tolerance approach to any form of discrimination. Any individuals identified will be issued with an indefinite ban from the Club. Equality, diversity and inclusion are at the heart of the Football Club and we do not welcome any individuals who do not share those values”, a West Ham United spokesperson said.🚨⚽️ | NEW: A West Ham fan has seemingly lost their finger watching their match vs Genk pic.twitter.com/cG6eyOxRTv— Football For All (@FootballlForAll) November 4, 2021 And if that was not enough, another video surfaced on social media, again with West Ham fans as the center piece. But, unlike the previous video, in this one, West Ham fan is only hurting himself. According to Daily Mail, a footage was circulating on social media on Thursday night showing the finger being picked up off the floor by a steward and placed on the fence in front of the travelling support. Other supporters then tried to hurry the stewards at the game in Belgium to get ice and were frustrated at the lack of urgency. It is understood the supporter, who will remain unidentified, lost his finger while banging the fence. He has now received medical attention. What a weird night.
