New claims about Pogba’s contract extension standoff emerge

The dilemma called Paul Pogba. The French international is (again) making headlines and it’s almost always the same thing – contract renewal. Pogba’s contract is expiring in June 2020 and if an extension is not agreed, he will leave the Red Devils on a free transfer for the second time. And considering what happened last time, and the fact that his agent is Mino Raiola, everybody assumes that the Frenchman has rejected all proposals and will leave the club. And that seemed to have annoyed the player and his entourage, so they decided to reveal their side of the story – he approached the club himself in 2019 and expressed a wish to renew, only to be rejected. Paul Pogba informed #mufc he did not wish to sign the formal contract extension offer made to him earlier this summer, and is waiting for United to make another offer. As of yet, the club are yet to return with a second offer #mulive [@SamiMokbel81_DM]— utdreport (@utdreport) November 5, 2021 According to Daily Mail, a number of Europe’s top clubs were courting Pogba, who the previous summer was one of the players of the tournament as he led France to World Cup glory. The former Juventus star, however, chose to ignore the rival interest and made signing a new deal at Old Trafford a priority. The club, however, decided against offering him a new deal, instead opting to trigger a 12-month option on his existing contract in 2020.Considering his recent form, and especially his displays in the France team, it is obvious that Pogba is nowhere near his best form. Manchester journalists have tried to solve the puzzle of his excellent displays in France, but average ones in United, and they are yet to find a proper answer. One of the reasons is certainly the supporting cast. In United, the squad is unbalanced, as they have too much forwards, while the defense is leaky, and the midfield consists basically of Pogba and Fernandes. 🔴Paul Pogba in the Premier League this season: 🎯Shots on Target – 3🟨 Cards – 5[Via – @WhoScored] pic.twitter.com/iR7XLR11X3— Footy Accumulators (@FootyAccums) November 5, 2021 Apart from that, there were talks about Pogba’s character, as he was described as an immature person, who always needs strong leaders around him. “Pogba needs somebody on him all the time. Somebody there that he totally respects, he needs experienced people behind him. How old he? 28? He’s a really experienced player. But he’s one of them that will get to 35 and be exactly the same. He’ll still be doing the stupid stuff where he’s stud rolling the ball, holding people off, showing how strong and skilful he is. You think of the Juventus team he played in, where he was brilliant and was why we signed him. The experience around him – Pirlo, Chiellini, Bonucci, Buffon, an aggressive manager. He will need that treatment until he’s 35″ said Paul Scholes, a former Manchester great. (5.00) MAN UTD (3.70) MAN. CITY (1.80)Funny thing is, Scholes basically said the same thing as his former coach, sir Alex Ferguson said more than 10 years ago. Former or Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais goalkeeper Pascal Olmeta recently recalled a conversation with sir Alex 11 years ago. “I was invited to Manchester United training by Sir Alex Ferguson. I went there with two children from my charity and I had lunch with him and he told me about Paul Pogba, who was 17. He told me: ‘You see this player, he will be extraordinary, full of talent. He will be at the top, but he is a dreamer, and if no one is there to show him the way, he will never make it’. It was a few years ago, and today, we are in this debate” recalls Pascal Olmeta. Paul Scholes slams his namesake Pogba: “He’ll still be doing stupid stuff when he’s 35″Other reports are suggesting that United will try to tie him down before Christmas, but it seems that at the moment, the negotiations are not going according to plans. Pogba has been in and out of Manchester squad recently, and it’s obvious that for some reason, his form has been in decline since Ronaldo arrived at the club. Unless we see some big changes until Christmas, it seems that the Frenchman will indeed leave Old Trafford again. But this time, nobody will be sad: not the player, not the club, not the fans.
