Shirao predicts quick return to top flight after joining Kibera Black Stars

Former Bidco United forward Hillary Shirao has revealed his intention of hitting double digits in the first leg of the National Super League and secure a move back to the top flight. The burly forward who was starved of playing time at Bidco last season joined Kibera Black Stars in the final days of the transfer window, a move he says will rekindle his scoring instincts and scale back to the top level. The 21-year old hit the headlines in January after joining the Thika based club on the backdrop of clinching the Kriss Darlin Super Cup Golden Boot for the third time in a row and the superb goal returns he had realized with Gogo Boys in the Division Two league. He however failed to live up to the expectations at Bidco who were in their maiden season in the top flight as he warmed the bench in almost all their matches as coach Anthony Akhulia preferred the partnership between Eric Gichimu and David Orem upfront.“Youth fades; love droops; the leaves of friendship fall; A mother’s secret hope outlives them all.” —Oliver Wendell HolmesHappy Mothers Day to all the Mothers out here. He accepted my request and went on bless my move to Kibera. I am sure I will score goals here at will and return to the top league in the second leg,” he said.Shirao opens on difference between the Div 2 and Premier LeagueThe former Kibera Lexus player who attributed the failed bid to play regularly at Bidco to the disparity between the fourth tier and the top flight said he heads to the NSL armed with skills learnt from the months he spend at Thika.“When I joined Bidco, I thought I will cruise but I honestly felt the difference between the fourth tier and the top tier but now I know the boxes which I should tick so as to plug the gap,” he added.
