The honeymoon is over: Tensions between Donnarumma and PSG grow

Gino Donnarumma is the future of Italian national team and one of the best goalkeepers in the world. And the 22-year old has become PSG’s future when he signed a long term contract as a free agent from AC Milan, a club which gave him the chance to become great. His move was not welcomed by Italian public (apart from Inter Milan fans) and it is widely believed that his mighty agent Mino Raiola was behind the idea of leaving Milan without any fee in order for Raiola to get a huge commission from the Parisians. Also, PSG already have one great goalkeeper in his prime – Keylor Navas, who is still number 1 in Paris, and nothing suggested that he would step aside and give Donnarumma his spot in the team. Donnarumma about his competition with Navas: “It doesn’t affect my performances but it ‘disturbs’ me. It’s not easy because I was used to playing as starter and sometimes it hurts to be on the bench, but I’m sure the situation will be resolved”, he told @TNTSportsBR. 🇮🇹🇫🇷 #PSG pic.twitter.com/p5hfB4WNmP— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) November 13, 2021 According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, there’s tension between the player and PSG as Donnarumma expected to be a regular starter. He decided to start from scratch in Paris, but he is not happy about the situation he is living in Paris, also considering that Keylor is backed by a big part of the dressing room, especially the South Americans and Sergio Ramos.##NAJAVA_MECA_5983884##But, Raiola was pushing the deal and so far he is the only winner. So far, the 22-year-old has played twice in the Champions League and five times in Ligue 1, meaning he has only taken part in 38 per cent of the total minutes available at club level in 2021-22. Former Milan captain is not used sharing his playing time with anybody and is not afraid to say so.“It has no effect on my performances, but it ‘disturbs’ me. It’s not easy, because I was used to always starting and sometimes it hurts to be on the bench. But I’m sure the situation will be resolved” Donnarumma told TNT Sport.Injured Neymar was still partying in Sao PaoloAt 22, the Italian is definitely the future of PSG, but the question is when will he become number 1? Raiola keeps urging Donnarumma to be patient, as his time will come, but the young keeper wants to play now. Mauricio Pochettino might have to decide here.
