League resumption set for next weekend as FKF Caretaker Committee hints at KPL return

The Football Kenya Federation Caretaker Committee has hinted that they are hoping leagues will be up and running again next weekend.The FKF Premier League, the National Super League, and Division One for men have currently been suspended despite some teams disregarding the suspension and playing some matches, while the Kenya Women Premier League and the Women’s Division One have also been put on hold.Last week, the Committees’secretariat postponed the top leagues by two weeks, which meant that there would be no action on the first weekend upon resumption from the international break.The FKF Caretaker Committee has announced that the FKF Premier League will resume next week and hinted at giving @TheOfficialKPL the mandate to run the top tier again.— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) November 20, 2021 Speaking at the Committee’s briefing, Committee member Ali Amour said that they are targeting to have the resumption in the coming weekend.”Everybody is waiting to hear when the leagues will restart. Our target is that by next weekend the leagues should be starting, the KPL and everything. KPL are an entity of the league so we will sit with them and have a way forward that could guide the league in the right manner. In the coming week you will hear a consensus between us and the club chairman and a clear road map,” he added.FKF took over the running of the top-tier league and was in charge last season after KPL Ltd’s contract lapsed in 2020.
