Real Madrid superstars show class and dismantle Granada in an ill-tempered affair

Sometimes it just doesn’t seem fair having to go against Real Madrid. When their top players find their groove it becomes virtually impossible to get something against them. And when you’re facing such a losing battle, the nerves can easily get the better of you. That’s that happened to Granada players on Sunday evening.German midfielder Toni Kroos gave another masterclass in midfield and dished out two assist for his teammates as the Madrid side raced into a 2-0 lead at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenas in Granada with Marco Asensio and Nacho Fernandez getting on the scoresheet.Luis Suarez managed to pull one back ten minutes before the break but it proved the peak of Granada’s performance. It was to head downhill.Vinicius was a handful yet again as he danced between defenders, almost unstoppable. And it was the little Brazilian who finished off a beautiful team move for the visitors. Karim Benzema received a deep ball on the right flank, carried it towards the box and weighted a well-timed pass to Luka Modric on the far post. The Croatian could have finished himself but instead chose to lay the ball off for Vinicus who’s had an even easier task to score. This particular move showed great team spirit of Carlo Ancelotti’s side as they continue to march forward.Vini was a constant threat and the home team’s defender Monchu lunged into the Brazilian after yet more trickery. The referee didn’t hesitate to send the defender off. And a few seconds he’s done the same to Los Nazarles boss Robert Moreno, who kept protesting furiously on the sideline.Ferland Mendy strolled through to the Granada box and rifled in the fourth to complete the scoring and wrap up the victory that lifted Los Blancos to the top spot of La Liga standings.LA LIGA – ROUND 14FridayLevante – Athletic Club 0-0SaturdayCelta – Villareal 1-1 (0-1)/Mendez 72 – Moreno 27/Sevilla – Alaves 2-2 (1-2)/Ocampos 38, Rakitic 90+2 – Laguardia 5, Joselu 45+7 pen/Atl.Madrid – Osasuna 1-0 (0-0)/Felipe 87/Barcelona – Espanyol 1-0 (0-0)/Depay 48 pen/SundayGetafe – Cadiz 4-0 (1-0)/Olivera 7, Cuenca 60, Unal 81, Mata 90+4/Granada – Real Madrid 1-4 (1-2)/Suarez 34 – Asensio 19, Fernandez 25, Vinicius Jr. 56, Mendy 76/20.30: (3.50) Elche (3.35) Betis (2.25)23.00: (1.75) Sociedad (3.70) Valencia (5.40)Monday23.00: (1.92) Rayo Vallecano (3.50) Mallorca (4.50)***odds are subject to change
