CAF CC: Mbish confident of positive results away to Otoho

Gor Mahia assistant captain Philemon Otieno has reiterated the team’s readiness for the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup playoff tie away to AS Otoho d’Oyo on Sunday.Gor will draw inspiration from the fact they began righting their sorry away record in the continental ties by beating Al Ahly Merowe of Sudan in the past season when they take on the Congolese side in a game they will be seeking a fair result and get the job done in Nairobi in the return leg.The hosts were relegated to the playoff after falling 4-2 on aggregate to Petro Atletico of Angola in the second round of the CAF Champions League. Otieno who doubles up as the club’s first choice right back said they had prepared for the duel well and had confidence in getting the intended results away.Philemon’s word ahead of clash with AS Otoho in CAF match.#Sirkal I #Betsafe pic.twitter.com/bNmucBJV7F— GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) November 26, 2021 “We are right to fight for good results on Sunday. We have had good preparations and played test matches that showed that we are ready for the game. The players fully understand the philosophy of the coach and what he demands from them. Starting away is an advantage for us as we will have the opportunity to bag a convincing win at home and advance to the group stages,” he said.##NAJAVA_MECA_6007983##The Harambee Stars man while welcoming the break handed to local clubs cautioned the team against underrating the Congolese side. Otieno noted that the break gave them time to prepare for the clash as well as sufficient rest.“At least we cannot complain of fatigue for we had time to rest. Every opponent at this stage is big and should not be underrated at all,” he stated. The former Ushuru player meanwhile thanked the rest of Gor players who were not registered for the CAF matches for offering them support that he said will go a long way in motivating them.
