Bizarre scenes in Norway: Viking FC player attacks his own goalkeeper

Fights between players on the pitch are not very frequent, but it is even rarer to see teammates attack each other. This exactly happened where we least expect it – in northern Europe, in the peaceful part of the continent, in Scandinavia. As part of Norwegian top tier (Eliteserien), Viking FK had produced an impressive comeback against Kristiansund, rallying from 2-1 down away from home to take the lead in the third minute of stoppage time. However, that was not all. Two minutes later, an altercation between Viking duo David Brekalo and goalkeeper Patrik Gunnarsson produced the match’s most eye-catching moment. Two teammates fighting and the goalkeeper dived to get his own player sent off 💀 pic.twitter.com/hw5gANJG9N— Football Shithousery (@FootyRustling) November 28, 2021 Brekalo, defender for Viking FC attacked his teammate, Icelandic keeper – Gunnarson. The two had a verbal clash at first, but it did not end there. Brekalo pushed Gunnarson once and not being content with the one shove, Brekalo came back for seconds. After the second push, Gunnarsson decided to end the confrontation by feigning injury, clutching his head as he theatrically tumbled backwards towards the ground. Brekalo had to be restrained by team-mates as he looked to continue his feud with his colleague, some of them frantically pulling him away to prevent any more damage being done. Having seen the goalkeeper fall onto the grass, the referee had no other option but to show the red card for the defender and send him to the dressing room a bit earlier than the rest.##EDITORS_CHOICE##
