CAFCC: Matano calls for defensive discipline ahead of CS Sfaxien clash

Tusker FC tactician Robert Matano has issued a rallying call to his charges to ensure that they maintain defensive discipline throughout the game when they face off with Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup playoff match on Sunday evening. The Brewers were held to a barren draw in the first leg of the encounter at Nyayo National Stadium and will be seeking to secure a win or a scoring draw to proceed to the group stages.📸| Stepped up this evening with the boys polishing up the tactics on the ball.#KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/BiL7v2Db68— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) December 3, 2021 Ahead of the game, Matano believes that his side has to be very solid when defending against the sleeky North Africans so as to increase their chances to continue playing in the competition.”We have to be very solid in terms of defending. We have to know when to defend and when to attack. A fast break will help us more in the attacking third because we have done some finishing techniques and we have to understand every situation. This is our time. Tusker has not played in many countries. We have traveled to three countries this season but we need to move more which means we need more performance so that we can continue working and moving,” Matano said. The disciplinarian further added that his team is ready and raring to go for the return leg, noting that they are in the best state of mind as they approach the game.📽️| Check out footage from our light shake down session in Sfax this morning as we get into the right gear towards Sunday’s crucial tie.https://t.co/37VULOifkV— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) December 3, 2021 Apart from that, Matano believes that he has players mature enough to get the job done in Tunisia, some of who have played at that specific level.Although the tactician agrees that they will have a cautious approach to this game, he is also of the opinion that they will have to get goals by whatever means.”We had two sessions and I can see now that the ball is ready to move. We are raring to go. The spirit of the boys is high. We will approach the game with a very good mind. We have good experienced players who are mature enough to understand every situation. Some of them have been in this level. We will approach the game cautiously but we also have to get goals in any way,” he added.Earlier, Matano had said that going into the game having kept a clean sheet at home will come in handy for his team, adding that they will aim at scoring first to make it tougher for the opponent.CAFCC: Matano bullish ahead of Tusker’s trip to Tunisia
