FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) has rejected a dispute filed by Sofapaka FC against John Avire and Tanta Club in regards to how the play terminated his contract with the FKK Premier League club in 2019.In their decision, the DRC noted that although there was a unanimous agreement that Avire did not put the club in default before going ahead to terminate the contract, a majority decision concluded that the termination was justified as the club had not paid the player for more than two months”Based on the foregoing, the majority of the members of the Chamber decided that the player had just cause to terminate the contract and concluded it’s deliberation by rejecting the claim of the claimant,” part of the decision by the DRC read.John Avire has a deal with an Egyptian club. The boy needs to humble and talk to us because if he does not then his career will go down the drain, it’s that simple”. pic.twitter.com/nkoEaAjbMZ— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) January 29, 2020 The EUR 224,390 claim by Batoto Ba Mungu was broken down into four items including Avire’s remuneration remaining under the old contract totaling to EUR 11,040, replacement costs of up to EUR 10,080, market value and loss of transfer fee amounting to EUR 200,000, and specificity of sport totaling to EUR 3,270.Following the impulse that ensued, Fifa’s Players’ Status Committee allowed the Egyptian side Tanta SC to register the player provisionally, attracting protest from the club’s president Elly Kalekwa, forcing him to file the recent claim in April this year against Avire.Sofapaka have 21 days to appeal the decision.
