Super subs Mwana, Mutuku preserve Homeboyz’s unbeaten run

Kakamega Homeboyz had to come from two goals down to preserve their unbeaten run in the league after holding Mathare United to a 2-2 draw in an FKF Premier League match staged at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega County on Wednesday afternoon.Heading to the game, Homeboyz were unbeaten in the league with five wins and a draw. The visitors on the other hand had lost their last three games and in addition to the fact that they were playing away from home, they were deemed, underdogs.Homeboyz thought that they had taken the lead in the first minute of the game when David Okoth found the back of the net; his celebrations were however cut short when the goal was chucked off for a foul on Mathare keeper Bryne Omondi in the buildup. Michael Karamor had an opportunity to put his side ahead in the 20th minute but his connection from an Okoth delivery narrowly went off target.21′ GooooaalllllllDanson Kago dances into the Homeboyz danger area and unleashes a hard low cross from the right that forces Brian Eshianda into blasting the ball into his own net.Kakamega Homeboyz 0-1 Mathare United #HomeboyzVsMathare— Mathare United FC (@MathareUtd) December 8, 2021 A rare Mathare United attack gave them the opening goal in the 22nd minute when Homeboyz defender Brian Eshihanda deflected a Danson Kago into his own net. Stephen Wakanya and Michael Karamor were hauled off for Sunday Mutuku and Yema Mwana. Things however went from bad to worse for the hosts in the 65th minute when Mathare forward, Eugene Wethuli who had just come off the bench doubled the advantage. Mwalala responded by making two more changes; Ali Bhai and Collins Odhiambo went off for Stephen Etyang and Chris Masinza.Min 64Goes from bad to worse.
