We had a clear game plan because this was a very critical game for us because we were coming back to Wundanyi, our home ground,” Ouma who is standing in for coach Ken Odhiambo who is away on compassionate leave said. Reflecting on the outcome of the game, Ouma said they laid down a strategy that worked for them by containing Wazito in their strong areas. He also feels that they should have killed off the game in the first half. Batoto ba Mungu led 1-0 at the break.”We understood how our opponents play, they try to load the wide areas of the Field but my players did well to contain them. I also think that we had more chances to kill the game. We should have scored more in the first half then control the game in the second but kudos to Wazito because they pushed us to the last minute,” he added.Batoto ba Mungu opted to rebuild after losing many key players at the end of the 2020/2021 season and the tactician is happy with the progress they are making although he admits that they are not a finished product yet.”Congratulations to the team, it is a young side – we are still developing cohesion and we still have a long way to go. We have to keep on learning and when they (players) hit the level that we want them to then it will be easy for us the technical bench,” he added.Next for Sofapaka is an away match against Tusker FC.
