Resurgent Gor Mahia plotting for maximum points against tough Dockers

Gor Mahia head coach Mark Harrison has labeled his side’s Sunday league match against Bandari as a tough one but is targeting maximum points as they work towards reclaiming the league title that they lost to Tusker C last season. The record league champions are now fully focusing on the local scene after they got bundled out of the CAF Confederation Cup by Otoho of Congo on a 2-1 aggregate a week ago. They played a midweek league match against Vihiga Bullets, a match that they comfortably won 3-0 at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.Next is a match against, the Dockers at the Nyayo National Stadium. The Dockers are considered as title contenders this season after they finished third in last season’s race. They have equally started the season well and the Nyayo showdown is expected to be a closely fought one between the two sides.🟢 | CHANGE OF VENUE Our tomorrow’s league match will be at Nyayo stadium not Kasarani as earlier planned.🏆 | League Match ⚽ | 🆚 Bandari FC 🗓 | Sunday, Dec 12🏟 | Nyayo stadium ⏰ | 3pm#Sirkal | #Betsafe— GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) December 11, 2021 Ahead of the match, Harrison spoke on the need to fully focus on the league. He admitted that the match against the Dockers will not be an easy one but wants maximum points from it in a bid to reclaim their league title.“We are now fully focusing on the league and this means we have to win our matches. The game against Bandari will be a tough one but we have to strategise early so that we reclaim our title and with the Caf experience, we have no option but to perform well,” he told the Daily Nation.Unlike in the CAF Confederation Cup where they had only 15 players available for the elimination stage, the league leaders have all their players available for league matches and the depth is what the Englishman will be keen on using to his team’s advantage. The Sunday clash will kick off at 3 PM.
