Matano praises departing son Muchiri who has opted for military service

Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano has bid departing forward Boniface Muchiri goodbye as the winger ends his five-year stay at Ruaraka for a move to the military.Muchiri played his final Tusker FC game on Sunday against Sofapaka, a game that ended in a barren draw. He is now set to move to the military and after his training course he will turn out for military backed, Ulinzi Stars in the FKF Premier League.The attacker who has also played for Nzoia Sugar FC and the now defunct Sony Sugar FC was an instrumental player for Tusker during his time at the club winning the 2020/21 FKF Premier League and Super Cup titles. During that period, he also played for the Kenya U23 and the senior national team, Harambee Stars.On Sunday an emotional Matano bid the player who many described as his ‘son’ goodbye and wished him well in his new career path. He hailed Muchiri as a good and disciplined player.I have never seen coach Robert Matano so emotinal.
