Solitary Ojok strike inspires Tusker back to winning ways against Nzoia

Reigning champions Tusker FC managed to get back to winning ways for the first time since Wednesday 3 November as a solitary strike from Ugandan import Deogratius Ojok helped Robert Matano’s men claim a 0-1 victory against Nzoia Sugar FC in the away league match played at Sudi Stadium on Sunday afternoon.Prior to kickoff, the Brewers had never beaten the Sugar Millers on home soil in three years with their last victory coming way back in February 2018.FULL TIME at the Sudi Stadium in Bungoma.Huge W on the road. pic.twitter.com/Fc4Mk4ZH5j— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) December 19, 2021 However, the 12-time Kenyan champions ended that small piece of bad history as Ojok’s towering header proved to be the game’s difference. In the match though, Tusker found themselves forced into an early tactical switch as defensive midfielder Teddy Osok had to be taken off after just eight minutes played, Matano bringing on the attack-minded Rodgers Ouma in his stead. We are forced into a very early change after eight minutes. Which Ojok did when he brilliantly rose highest to glance it in for the opener. That effort would prove to be the meaningful point of the opening act as the Brewers held the slender advantage going into the break.HALF TIME IN BUNGOMA.We lead at the break. pic.twitter.com/8QEB9XiMKu— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) December 19, 2021 In the second half, there was nothing that separated both sides as Tusker held on the narrow win to record only their third win of the season after seven games. With the win, the Brewers jumped up to 12th on the log on 10 points as Nzoia Sugar stayed second last on the log on six points.
