Ibrahimovic’s book causes a stir at Parc de Princes

Everyone is eager to hear Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s next big interview, press conference or even a book. And his latest one – book called ‘Adrenaline: my untold stories’ has, as any Swede’s public address, caused quite a commotion. Especially among the ranks of his former club – Paris Saint Germain.Ibrahimovic wrote about his four-year spell in the capital of France and and in those pages it can be seen that he offered himself to take over the position of PSG sporting director. The 40-year-old revealed that, in case he hadn’t signed a contract extension with Milan, he would like to take over Leonardo’s position. Ibra also wrote that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi smiled at the offer.’“It’s true, in summer 2021, I offered myself to Paris as a sporting director. I called Al-Khelaifi, and I told him that if I didn’t renew my contract with Milan, I would come to Paris, and restore order in the team… Al-Khelaifi laughed, but he did not say no”, wrote Zlatan.”Mino Raiola was also in agreement…he agreed with me. If I had not extended my contract with Milan, having a role of manager at Paris would have been a nice future. Even the players at Paris who I spoke to were thinking the same thing.”Wed, 22.45: (4.60) EMPOLI (3.70) AC MILAN (1.85)AC Milan striker also mentioned that the Ligue 1 giants dressing room ‘lacks discipline.’“I met Kylian Mbappé at Marco Verratti’s wedding, and he asked me what he should do. For me, he should go to Real Madrid to see a club that has another philosophy, and other behavioural rules…you learn values from the environment and champions that you are around. At PSG, there are many stars, but very little sacrifice.”“I advised Mbappé to try to leave Paris, and I advised Nasser Al-Khelaïfi to try to keep Mbappé. Two honest advices. I said what I was thinking, as always.”“There are 40 players, but no one wants to leave, even if he doesn’t play, they stay because they are too comfortable at Paris. If I was there, everyone would be on the grill. If I pay you, and you don’t give me your maximum, you can’t stay.”Wed, 23.00: (9.00) LORIENT (4.90) PSG (1.40)“There is not enough discipline at PSG, and Mbappé needs some to improve, and get to the next level. At PSG, it’s impossible because they don’t have the right people. If there was more rigor, everyone would run on the pitch, no one would arrive late in training, the players wouldn’t allow themselves to do what they want. If I was there, I wouldn’t tell them what to do, I would order them.”“If you don’t have a strong leader, it can become unbearable with all the stars you collected in your team. To summarize PSG: do they pay high salaries? Yes. Do they win the league? Yes. Is it good to live in Paris? Yes.”All of those claims did not impress the Brazilian.“It’s something annoying, but this doesn’t change things” Leonardo told Europa1, as quoted by Calciomercato.com.“I’m 52, so I can understand Zlatan’s desire, I know him well and I am not one person who goes to media to respond. Actually, I don’t want to say anything.“Did he want to become PSG’s sporting director? Silence is the better answer.”Best in the world, but not in France: Messi omitted from the Ligue 1 team of the seasonAlong with Leonardo, manager of the Saints Mauricio Pochettino took a similar path when it comes to commenting what Ibra said in his book.“I have no comments to make. I’m just talking about what’s going on here, what we’re doing, the reality.”, said the Argentinian.Ibrahimovic left AC Milan in 2012 and joined PSG. The Swedish superstar scored 156 goals in 180 matches with the Ligue 1 giants. His later stops, before returning to San Siro were Manchester United and LA Galaxy.
