With the holiday season upon us, some of the game’s best players traveled back in time to when they got the perfect golf-related gift from Santa Claus. Suddenly, they were kids in a candy store again, recalling those moments when they ripped open their present.
Take Lexi Thompson, for example.
“Probably my little putting green setup thing,” she said when asked what her best golf-related Christmas present was.
When did you get it?
“It wasn’t that long ago,” she said as she broke into a huge, long laugh, a nod to her occasional struggles on the putting green. Funny thing, though, she told her story at the QBE Shootout, where she teamed with Bubba Watson and putted lights out.
“It was like three years ago. I still use it,” she added. “It was a great gift.”
