For us, it’s just about giving someone time.Local coaches should be given the same salaries and perks as the foreigners but I’m not against the foreigners I just believe that local coaches are not different from the foreigners,” said Otieno. The Harambee Stars job was left vacant after Engin Firat’s two-month contract elapsed with a replacement yet to be named after FKF was disbanded for alleged corruption. The former Santos FC captain added that the country has competent coaches, naming Francis Kimanzi, Stanley Okumbi, Frank Ouna and Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo.#TBThursday April 27 1997 Captain fantastic Musa Otieno scored the winner as Harambee Stars beat Guinea 1-0 mbele ya hayati President Moi.📺 | KBC TV pic.twitter.com/xy2wV16SMH— Harambee Stars (@Harambee__Stars) November 5, 2020 “We should support one of the coaches whether it is Kimanzi, Okumbi, Pamzo or Ouna, we can give them a three-year timeline and hand them deliverables. The reason why the local coaches have not done so well is that they are not funded as the foreigners when Kimanzi was there we performed very well and we also had Okumbi who started well,” added Otieno.
