Former AFC Leopards defender hoping to steer NSL outfit to the Premier League

Muly’s Children’s Family (MCF) team captain Fan Ngaira is hopeful that he can make use of his experience to help the team champion for a premier league spot by the end of the current campaign.Ngaira had a short stint at AFC Leopards in 2009 then moved to Muhoroni Youth where he spent a huge chunk of his playing career before making the switch to the now-defunct Ushuru FC.The defender added that the team is taking a game at a time, with their immediate target being a top-three place at the end of the first leg.”I am hoping that I can use my experience and that of other players within the team to push for promotion this season. In the first leg we want to finish in the top three then plan on the second leg,” Ngaira told Mozzart SportHe went ahead to note that the long break that saw the league suspended in November was a distraction to the team but they hac=ve since settled back and are doing everything to compete. The club boasts of a couple of players with Premier League experience apart from Ngaira, including Ezekiel Okare and Elijah Mwanzia who have featured for different Premier League clubs in their career.”We had been distracted a little with the League break earlier but we are now settled. We are doing everything that is within our ability. We push each other and talk as a team, implement what the coach tells us and encourage each other. We lost a couple of players last season and it is like we have a new team now although we have gotten to understand each other on and off the field,” he added.MCF lie ninth on the log with seven points after five games with only three points sitting between them and those who occupy their target, third place, before the first legends.
