Muki aiming to end year with a flourish with win over dishevelled Gor Mahia

Nairobi City Stars have punched above their weight this year with skipper Anthony ‘Muki’ Kimani looking to cap their impressive year with a win over Gor Mahia on Thursday. K’Ogalo have however enjoyed sheer dominance in the clash since 2009 with Simba wa Nairobi emerging victorious only twice.NEXT MATCH ⏭️FKF-PL | Round 11🗓 | Thursday 30th December 2021🆚 Gor Mahia FC🏆 | FKF-PL ⏰ | 1500 EAT🏟 | Nyayo Stadium#𝕊𝕚𝕞𝕓𝕒𝕎𝕒ℕ𝕒𝕚𝕣𝕠𝕓𝕚BETTER MUST COMECOME ONE COME ALL #OperationJazaStadi pic.twitter.com/G7UilN5Xdv— Official Nairobi City Stars Fc (@NrbCityStars) December 23, 2021 Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Muki admitted that the clash will not be a walk in the park but that will not deter them from aiming for the three points. “It will be a tough match and if you look at Gor Mahia’s status, they are a big team but we are going into the clash heads high and we will be aiming for the three points. We are on a good run although we lost our last match which is not supposed to define a team because they also lost their last match but they are a better side which makes it an interesting match,” said Muki. The last time City Stars managed a win over Gor Mahia was back in 2011 in a 1-0 victory with K’Ogalo enjoying 11 wins in 18 head to head encounters.Having suffered a deflating 1-0 loss at the hands of KCB last time out, Muki emphasized on the importance of City Stars getting back to winning ways and opened up on the mood in the camp.67′ | WE HAVE THREECaptain Fantastic (Muki) chips the Goalie to make it three.NCS 3️⃣ – 0️⃣ VIH#𝕊𝕚𝕞𝕓𝕒𝕎𝕒ℕ𝕒𝕚𝕣𝕠𝕓𝕚 pic.twitter.com/gkUntEXjdh— Official Nairobi City Stars Fc (@NrbCityStars) November 6, 2021 “It is important to get a win because both of us are in the top five and if you lose again you can go down by three or four positions and if you win you will climb at least two places. We are in high spirits because the festive break has not been that long, we have been training I do not see anything hindering us from getting three points,” added Muki.
