Tusker youngster Mbugua hails Asike as role model after debut season with senior team (Do not touch)

Tusker FC youth graduate Jimmy Mbugua has hailed team skipper Eugene Asike as his role model after the lanky defender managed to make the switch from the junior team to the senior side last season which was his first in the top flight Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL).In a one on one interview on the club’s social media channels, Mbugua revealed that he used to draw inspiration from Asike, who was named as the 2020/2021 FKFPL Defender of the Year, whose character and commitment provided the basis for him to finally link up with the senior side.“The role model in the team was Eugene Asike. When I was in the youth side he is the one I used to look up to. I had waited for really long to get my chance and fortunately for me I got it when all the full backs had sustained an injury. I had to stay patient and finally it came. I knew that I had to give my best to convince the coach that I was capable of being in the team.
