Pamzo contented with Nzoia draw despite Gor Mahia falling behind in title race

Gor Mahia assistant coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omolo was contented with the one point earned by his side, in the one-all draw against Nzoia Sugar at the Sudi Stadium on Wednesday.Pamzo’s charges ended their two-match losing streak with a draw against the Millers in Bungoma. This was the first time that Gor were playing at Sudi as in recent years the match between the two teams was hosted at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.K’ogalo went ahead early in the first half when George ‘Blackberry’ Odhiambo scored from the penalty spot. Nzoia would then earn a share of the spoils with a second-half leveler from James Kibande. In his post-match interview, Pamzo said it was a positive thing to end the losing run.“It is not a bad result because it was really a tough match and coming from back to back losses I think it is positive. We definitely would have wished to get a win but I appreciate the point because we had our chances in the first half and they had theirs in the second and it is a fair result for either side,” he stated.FULL TIME: Nzoia 1 – 1 Gor Mahia (G. Odhiambo) #Sirkal | #Betsafe— GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) January 5, 2022 On how his team played, the former Posta Rangers said that his team played so well in the first before Nzoia made things difficult for them with their second-half long-ball approach.“We played very well in the first half, we were building well from the back all the way to the attack, there was a good flow in our style of play. We were creating many chances and one of them resulted in the penalty through which we scored our goal. In the second half, Nzoia showed improvement because they were trailing and they got an early goal. They went for a long-ball approach and they put some many balls behind our defence-line and my defenders really struggled to deal with these balls,” he added.Next for Gor is a home match against Mathare United.
