KCB midfielder sets eyes on FKFPL title

KCB midfielder Brian ‘Rio’ Ochieng’ has called on his side to pick on the vital lessons of missing out on the league title last season as they plot to make a trophy challenge in the 2021/2022 Football Kenya Federation Premier League campaign.Speaking after KCB defeated Mathare United 1-0 to reclaim top spot in the league table, Rio called on his side to maintain the consistency that has seen the Bankers record an eleven match unbeaten run in the league with their only defeat this season coming way back in September 2021 in their first match against Gor Mahia.“At the moment, we are focused on taking one game at a time. We narrowly missed out on the title last season but there is nothing we can do about it. What we need to do is to learn the lessons from then, get cautious enough and correct the mistakes we made last season. If we do that then we will stand higher chances of fighting for the league title this season,” the midfielder told Mozzart Sport.Solitary Otanga strike propels scheming KCB to the top of the tableAdditionally, the midfielder hailed the character displayed by his team in forking out the hard fought win as Derrick Otanga’s second half strike proved to be the difference in the match. The lanky player urging his team to maintain the focus as the season is still in its early stages.“Our matches against Mathare have never been an easy affair. I would say it was tough to get the win but fortunately we managed to do it and credit goes to the team. What we need to do is to take one game at a time because we believe we can lift the title,” Rio added.
