Bandari, Police to face off in Mbaraki

Bandari FC and Kenya Police FC will face off at the Mbaraki Sports Club on Saturday with both in-form teams keen on getting maximum points from the duel. The Dockers have been rock-solid at home this season, they have lost just once (to Posta Rangers) in their backyard and the match against the Law Enforcers is one they will be keen on getting maximum points, a result that could potentially move them to the top of the log this weekend if KCB and Kakamega Homeboyz go down to Bidco United and Kariobangi Sharks respectively. This is the first competitive meeting between the two clubs. They have never met in the Cup games and this being Police’s first season in the top-flight, the Mbaraki showdown will be the first official match between the two government-backed teams.Despite losing just one game so far this season, the Dockers’ problems have been in attack where they have managed just four goals in their last six games and it is an issue coach Casa Mbugo will be hoping is addressed starting with the game against Police.Mzigo uko bandarini…Whoever is concerned with Clearing and Forwarding we are coming for our three containers.#3points pic.twitter.com/78tkwg8Gbb— KENYA POLICE FC (@kenyapolicefc) January 7, 2022 “We need to work on scoring more goals and kill the game early because in football anything can happen within a few minutes. That we are going to work on,” Mbungo said.Police on the other hand seem to be finally finding their footing after a difficult start to the new season. They are currently unbeaten in their last five games where they registered three wins and two draws; they have scored 13 goals in the five games. Police coach Bobby Ogolla is however wary of the threat the Dockers pose.“It most certainly won’t be a walk in the park. We need to approach the match carefully because Bandari have already shown they are a good team and they are bound to put up a good fight on Saturday,” he told the Star. The match kicks off at 3 PM.
