Simba SC target Harrison Mwendwa features as Kabwe Warriors are held at home

Kenyan international Harrison Mwendwa featured for 85 minutes as his side came from behind to rescue a point against Indeni FC at home in the MTN Super League on Sunday. The former AFC Leopards winger was included in the starting lineup, with former Tusker and Gor Mahia midfielder Hashim Sempala settling for a place on the bench and went close in the first half but was ruled offside.None of the two teams could find the net in the first half, forcing the two to go into the break level. In the second half, Indeni opened the scoring at the stroke of the hour mark and Kabwe had to fight to salvage a point from the spot with only seven minutes left on the clock. The referee awarded a penalty after Indeni’s defender was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box, with Jimmy Ndlovu stepping up to take the resultant spot-kick, making no mistake as he buried it in the net to grab a point for Warriors.Mwendwa would then be taken off two minutes later, with his place taken up by Bartuel Tembo for the final five minutes.Sempala featured for 15 minutes, being introduced in the 75th minute to replace Cephas MulombwaAt the beginning of the year, Mwendwa’s agent confirmed to Mozzart Sport that the pacy winger was attracting interest from the Tanzanian giants, noting that talks were currently ongoing between the two parties and a deal could be finalized in the coming weeks should all the required processes and agreements fall in place.“We are in touch with them, next week we can finalize the deal if it goes well,” the agent told Mozzart Sport then.Should the move come to be, the former Kariobangi Sharks player will join his compatriot Joash Onyango who is already at the club and will become the latest Kenyan to join the lucrative Tanzanian Ligi Kuu Bara after Kenneth Muguna did so after joining Azam in the last transfer window.
