He never cared about making pizzas but instead started to cooperate with footballers and realize that his business sense would come in handy. In the past, he has also gone to war with the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson, the legendary manager of Manchester United, who was himself known for his disciplinarian style. Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich have both had run-ins with Raiola in the past, too.##EDITORS_CHOICE##Raiola may be a nightmare for managers, but he is a dream for players. Indeed, he becomes genuinely close to his stars. That is why some of the biggest stars in the world pay him huge commissions and fees – simply because they know that the outspoken Italian would get them the best deals possible. One of the biggest transfers the Italian has been involved with was Paul Pogba’s $115 million deal to re-join Manchester United from Juventus in 2016. The total agent’s fee for that transfer alone was reported $57 million. In the meantime, FIFA rules have been changed so the agents cannot earn quite as much. However, you can be sure that Raiola won’t have problems paying his bills for the rest of his days. The nature of his illness or reason for the surgery is not yet known but he is anticipated to remain in hospital. The superagent will have to take it easy during the January transfer window. It’s sure to be a quiet month without the mouthy Mino.
