Tusker’s Wandera refutes Police links

Hilary Wandera has downplayed reports linking him with a move to Kenya Police saying he has not penned any deal with the big-spending law enforcers.Wandera, whose contract with Tusker FC expired in November, is currently sidelined with an arm injury that he picked during a CAF Confederation Cup match against CS Sfaxien in November. The Brewers are not keen to extend his contract and he could soon join a new team.Reports indicated that he was set to join Police FC who had in fact gone ahead to request his release letter from Tusker FC. For Wandera, news of him joining Police have come as a big surprise. He says he has not sat down with Police for any talks and news of him joining the team is untrue.“I have not signed for Kenya Police FC, these are premature reports. They just expressed interest in signing me but nothing was really discussed and so reports that I am joining them are untrue. You cannot sign for a team without discussions on terms and other issues. I am still nursing an injured arm and I have not completed any transfer,” he stated.Hillary Wandera has been at home recuperating from his dislocated shoulder and is here to support the boys today. pic.twitter.com/E4pS58f89F— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) December 19, 2021 The left-back added that he is currently weighing his options and will make a decision on his next move soon. He remains in the books of Tusker FC until he recovers fully.“I am weighing my options so for now I cannot speak about my next move. Even though my contract expired, I am still with Tusker because I got injured while playing for the team. Things will be clearer in the coming weeks.” He added.Wandera has previously played for Nzoia Sugar FC and the now-defunct Oserian FC.
