FC Talanta keen on acquiring Nzoia forward

After watching Nzoia Sugar forward Levis Okello put the ball past their goalkeeper three times in the last two Football Kenya Federation Premier rounds, FC Talanta are now interested in luring the towering player to join them. Okello struck twice in the first leg of the fixture staged at the Sudi Stadium last week but the goals were not enough as Talanta bagged maximum points courtesy of the three goals they scored.Shikanda delighted after hat-trick hero, Okello delivers maiden season winThe goal poacher was on target when the two sides clashed last weekend in Nairobi but lapses in the defence saw Talanta come from two goals down to pick a point.Okello who pulled out of retirement in November last year to join the sugar millers revealed that shortly after last weekend duel, Talanta bosses approached him with an intention of signing him before the midseason window closes. The 27-year old has been on top of his game since joining Nzoia on a three-year long deal as he has six goals against his name in seven matches. He shot to fame after registering a hat-trick against Kariobangi Sharks last month, goals that saw the club end the wait for the first win of the season. I wasn’t expecting any team to express interest in my signature considering that I have played just seven matches this season and I had been out of active football for some time. I fell I am not ready to make any move at the moment, maybe next season,” he said. This is not the first time Talanta are trying to raid the Nzoia camp as they narrowly missed on defensive midfielder and the club’s assistant captain Kevin Juma in the past window. Juma who was also on target against the Communications Authority of Kenya backed club has for long been linked with a move from the club.
