Another setback for one of Barca’s biggest talents

There are those ‘what if’ players, footballers you can only wonder what heights they could have reached if injuries did get in their way. Alexandre Pato, Abou Diaby, Jack Wilshere, Marco Reus, maybe even Brazilian Ronaldo and those knee injuries (who knows how many more Ballon d’Ors he could have collected if his knees were stronger)There is another name that can be added to the list but we hope he will manage as there is still time to recover and take over the football world – Ansu Fati. After another injury, Barcelona star is set to miss two to three months’ worth of action. In Barca’s Copa del Rey defeat to Athletic Bilbao, young Guinea-Bissau-born Spaniard suffered a hamstring injury.Sun, 6/2, 18.15: (2.40) BARCELONA (3.30) ATL.MADRID (3.25)Due to struggling with multiple injuries, the 19-year-old has only featured 10 times for Barca so far this season. He has now suffered yet another setback, unfortunately. Fati had to be consoled by manager Xavi as he hobbled off the pitch in tears. As he begins his rehabilitation on his hamstring injury, the newest reports across Spain state that won’t be back on the pitch until the end of March at the earliest. Most believe that surgery should be the next step for the teenager and the club advised him of something like that. But according to the club’s official website – Fati has opted against surgery for a fourth time this season and has instead chosen to conduct a ‘conservative recovery plan’.After learning the news of his injury, Fati took to social media earlier this week where he vowed to ‘never give up’.’Unfortunately, I am having to live the worst part of football, but I will never give up! Thank you very much for your messages of support and love! NEVER GIVE UP.’ ¡Por desgracia me está tocando vivir la peor parte del fútbol, pero nunca me rendiré! ¡Muchas gracias por vuestros mensajes de apoyo y cariño!NEVER GIVE UP💪🏾 pic.twitter.com/BHh9xR7g73— Ansu Fati (@ANSUFATI) January 23, 2022 As per Barca Universal, the La Masia graduate went through a terrible streak of meniscus arthroscopy procedures ‘where many mistakes were made’ – it resulted in him going through the operating room three times last year.November 7th, 2020 is when Fati tore the meniscus in his left knee which required multiple bouts of surgery. Then on September 26th, 2021, he returned only to suffer recurring ailments which stunted his progress. The youngster has been in excellent form for the Catalans when he has played, despite constant injury setbacks. In 10 games in all competitions, Fati scored 5 times and as far as La Liga goes, this season he scored three goals in 5 outings.
