Just days after Andreas Spier was confirmed as the new Gor Mahia head coach, Gad Mathews has revealed that scintillating attacking football should be expected from the German gaffer. The 59-year-old took over the reins from Mark Harrison who was booted after a string of poor results that saw K’Ogalo falter in the title race. 🟢 | Welcome to Gor Mahia head coach Andreas Spier and Assistant coach Michael Nam #Sirkal | #Betsafe pic.twitter.com/f21uox6q76— GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) February 1, 2022 Speaking to Mozzart Sport, K’Ogalo custodian Gad Mathews revealed that Spier lays emphasis on fluid attacking football with a lot of goals expected in their matches. “What I have seen in the short while we have trained with him is that he is a good coach, his philosophy has some rhythm, his style of play is good and we are eager to understand his philosophy. Fans should expect a lot of goals and a lot of attacking play because that was even evident in the friendly we played on Thursday,” said Gad.Spier’s last active involvement in football was his role as the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Technical Director and was the Romania U19 coach before coming to Kenya back in 2016.##EDITORS_CHOICE##He is fondly remembered for winning the Rwandan National Soccer League with Armee Patriotique Rwandaise Football Club (APR) and holds a UEFA Pro Licence.🟢 | Welcome to Gor Mahia head coach Andrea Spier and Assistant coach Michael Nam #Sirkal | #Betsafe pic.twitter.com/Q1X4vAlg4N— GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) February 1, 2022 The former Wazito FC keeper added that despite Mark Harrison being shown the door he was a good coach who would have turned things around if given time. “We really did not have a problem as such there were just a few things that needed changing for the team to be okay because Mark Harrison was a good coach, if he was given time things would have been better,” added Gad.
