Bandari trio out for eight more weeks

Struggling FKF Premier League side Bandari FC will miss the services of three of their key players for a further two months with varied injuries. The Andre Casa Mbungo coached side is currently on a five-match winless run in the league and are fast dropping off the title race despite their positive start. So good was their showing this season that they automatically formed the core group of league title favourites. But they have failed to keep pace. Their latest setback was Wednesday’s defeat to Tusker. A Clyde Senaji first half belter settled what was a closely fought match at the Ruaraka Grounds and gave the equally struggling defending league champions some breathing space.Injuries have been part of the team for the better part of the season. Key midfielder Keegan Ndemi has been out since December with a foot problem. Ugandan striker Umaru Kasumba, Whyvonne Isuza, Faraj Ominde and Johanna Mwita are equally sidelined. They were joined by Dennis Magige who went off injured on Wednesday against Tusker.😑#BandariNiYetu pic.twitter.com/5oGUnukw7L— Bandari Football Club (@BandariOfficial) February 2, 2022 Mbungo has now disclosed that three of the players will be out at least for the next eight weeks an indicator that their fortunes may not change for the better soon.“Injuries are hurting us and if we had these sidelined players with us, things would have been better. Keegan has been out for two months and he will be sidelined for a further two months. Faraj will equally be out for two months, Kasumba too will be out for the same period and this is a problem for the team because these injuries are too many,” he stated. The Dockers have made one signing this window. Kevin Kimani has been acquired from Wazito FC and asked if he would be bringing on board more players before the window closes, the Rwandese tactician was noncommittal.“It all depends on the management. We may wish to have many good players are the coaching staff but this has to be approved by the management,” he stated.Bandari take on Tusker on Sunday in Mombasa for the return leg.
