They can’t beat us twice. Gor Mahia skipper promises Posta Rangers fireworks

Gor Mahia assistant captain Samuel Onyango insists that they will be seeking revenge when they take on Posta Rangers in an FKF Premier League return leg match at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani on Sunday. The two teams met just over a week ago for the first leg where Posta Rangers whitewashed Gor Mahia 3-0, their heaviest league defeat in recent years. The defeat had consequences as Gor responded by disbanding its technical bench. Coach Mark Harrison, his assistant Sammy Omolo and goalkeepers’ coach Jerim Onyango were all sent packing.Former FKF Technical Director Andreas Spiers has since been named head coach. He will be aided by widely traveled Michael Nam while veteran goalkeeper Boniface Oluoch will step in to sharpen the keepers. He remains active and will be called upon if need be.Ahead of Sunday’s match, Onyango has rung the war bell saying they cannot lose for the second consecutive time to the Stanley Okumbi led Mail-men. He says they will go all out to get revenge in Kasarani.🟢 | Coach Andreas’ assurance to fans. #Sirkal | #Betsafe pic.twitter.com/iVBew5u3Wp— GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) February 3, 2022 “They can’t beat us twice. It will be a tough match but we will be going for revenge,” he told the Daily Nation. The team however has defensive concerns that they must address ahead of the match against the Mail-men who have one of the best attacks in the league. (They have found the back of the net 25 times this season, only City Stars (26) and Kariobangi Sharks (27) have scored more). Captain Harun Shakava recently quit the team for Kenya Police FC and with Frank Odhiambo heading to Sweden, the only natural central defender available in the team is youngster Joshua Mahero. Dennis Ng’ang’a who is naturally a left-back has been deputizing in that area and with the team thin in that department, others like right-back Yusuf Mainge and midfielder Ernest Wendo could be forced to drop back. The match starts at 3 PM.
