Aussems urges Ingwe management to finalise Makwata signing

AFC Leopards head coach Patrick Aussems has bemoaned his side’s profligacy in the 1-1 draw against Bidco United and hopes to get John Makwata’s signing over the line to sort out their attack. Ingwe settled for a 1-1 draw against Bidco United on Sunday with Mudenyu Robert opening the scoring for Leopards before John Nairuka restored parity for the Thika-based club. It’s Coach Patrick Aussems’ Birthday today! 🎂🎂Keep those wishes coming.#tujazenyayo #yamatere pic.twitter.com/j7TdpwObz4— AFC Leopards (@AFCLeopards) February 6, 2022 Speaking in his post-match interview, Aussems lamented the missed chances in the game after failing to bury their efforts and hoped the signing of Makwata will be complete before the window slams shut. “We played well especially in the first 20 minutes but wasted many chances. We had a lot of ball possession but failed to capitalise on many open chances. I really need strikers for the remaining matches. Some players have been training with us for the last two weeks including John Makwatta, and I hope they will be signed by Wednesday,” said Aussems. Ingwe have struggled in front of goal this season with their main striker Fasanami Ojo registering only two goals which all came this year. FULL TIME AFC Leopards 1 Bidco United 1⚽️ Mudenyu Robert #Betsafe #OursForever #INGWE— AFC Leopards (@AFCLeopards) February 6, 2022 Aussems sent a message to the management that the young players in the books of the club should be tied down with lengthy contracts.“I never set the league title target for this season, we shall keep fighting hard and see what happens. I have asked the club management to keep these young players, and AFC will regain its glory soon.” Added Aussems.
