Boost for Ulinzi Stars as experienced duo returns

Ulinzi Stars have been handed a shot in the arm with the return of Bonface Andayi and Churchill Muloma who were away on military duties for the better part of the first leg in the current campaign.Andayi was instrumental for Benjamin Nyangweso’s charges last season, forming a formidable partnership with Bonventure Muchika in the central defence pairing but will now have to battle for that position with Kevin Ouma who has fit in well since making the switch from Posta Rangers.Muloma is one of the longest-serving players at Ulinzi with the current crop of players and will add to the much-needed experience to the side as they seek to stage a strong finish to the season.🚨Welcome back👏✅Bonface Andayi and Churchill Muloma rejoin the team for the second leg. ✅Andayi will beef up defence options for coach Benjamin Nyangweso while Muloma adds to the midfield choices.⛔️Ulinzi Stars Family, are you ready to be entertained?#WeSoldierOn#GBUS pic.twitter.com/StlF12Fdsw— Ulinzi Stars FC (@UlinziStarsFC) February 8, 2022 Last week, the Soldiers unveiled four new players led by former Kakamega Homeboyz midfielder Stephen Etyang and former KCB player Antonio Abwao.Julius Nabutete, Shannel Makwata were the other two additions to the team that is seeking to stage a strong second leg to overcome a tough patch they had midway through the first leg.The Soldiers started out strong, being consistently among the leading pack in the initial stages of the season but have since fallen down the pecking order to 11th on the log with 21 points after 15 matches. At the beginning of the season, the Soldiers brought in eight players including three from top-tier clubs.🚨OFFICIAL COMMUNICATION!And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is how we wrap up our midseason transfer activities.➡️ Stephen Etyang Odima➡️ Antonio Abwao Ogaro➡️ Julius Nabutete Okutu➡️ Shannel Makwata ✅Karibuni Nyumbani#WeSoldierOn#GBUS pic.twitter.com/B86YURkQCt— Ulinzi Stars FC (@UlinziStarsFC) February 4, 2022 Goalkeeper Stephen Ochieng joined from Mathare United as Kevin Ouma and Hillary Simiyu joined from Posta Rangers and Nzoia Sugar respectively, with the latter leaving the team to undertake military training, while defender Ezekiel Nyati joined from Sua Flamingo FC.Peter Wafula Glen, Wilfred Njoroge, George Katama Mkangi, and Benard Tindi Biko were the other acquisitions in the main window all having been scouted from an internal tournament within the forces.
