Nzoia Sugar FC head coach Salim Babu has backed his new striker, Alfred Emoni Tanui to hit the ground soon after he crossed over to the millers from Posta Rangers on the final day of the mid-season transfer window. The young striker is yet to have a taste of top-flight football despite having been in the books of Posta from the start of the season. His dream move to the then Stanley Okumbi led team didn’t match up his expectations as he was down in the pecking order and eventually exited without donning their colors in the league. He is now in the books of the Bungoma-based side and Babu, who signed him for Kisumu All-Stars at the start of last season believes he has something to offer at Nzoia. The tactician says the player has been impressive in training this week and believes that he will be back to his best in not so long.Alfred Emoni Tanui. He is expected to come off the bench.“From what I have seen in training, I think he is ready to play, he was keeping fit on his own, and on Sunday, he will be on the bench for our match against Nairobi City Stars,” he added.Nzoia have won just one game this season and they will be seeking to make it two when they face the in-form Simba wa Nairobi. City Stars are coached by former Nzoia boss, Nicholas Muyoti who joined them at the start of the season.
