Timbe on target as Aboud features in Greece

Kenyan international Ayub Timbe bagged a goal and assist in Buriram United’s 4-1 thumping of Nong Bua Pitchaya while Aboud Omar started for Athlitiki Enosi Larissa in the 2-0 win over Apollon Larissa.Ayub TimbeThe former Vissel Kobe midfielder was handed another start as Buriram United progressed to the semi-finals of the Thai FA Cup following a 4-1 pummeling of Nong Bua Pitchaya.Buriram just needed four minutes to open the scoring through Jonathan Bolingi who held his nerve to convert a penalty despite replays showing the foul was committed outside the box.Timbe then whipped in a corner that was nodded to the far post by Ratthanakorn Maikami in the 34th minute despite the best efforts of a Pitchaya defender stationed at the post to prevent the goal. Bolingi sealed his brace in the 57th minute when he had time and space to chest down the ball and fire in from close range. Brazilian forward Tardeli Reis netted the consolation goal for Pitchaya six minutes after the hour mark when he pounced on a defensive mishap by Buriram to fire the ball home. Timbe drilled the final nail in Pitchaya’s coffin in the 88th minute when he received a pass on the left flank and drove into the box before slotting the ball past the keeper for his third goal since joining the side. Abud OmarKenyan international Abud Omar started for Athlitiki Enosi Larissa in their 2-0 derby victory against Apollon Larissa in the Greece second tier.Following a barren first half, Athlitiki Enosi opened the scoring four minutes after the hour mark when Marios Ogboe put them ahead and sealed his brace three minutes later. The win whittles Veria’s lead at the summit of the log as Athlitiki Enosi are just now six points behind them following a run of three successive victories.
